NETS-T Standards
The NETS-T Standards
Standard 2: Design and Develop Digital-Age Learning Experiences and Assessments
Description:
Teachers design, develop, and evaluate authentic learning experiences and assessment incorporating contemporary tools and resources to maximize content learning in context and to develop the knowledge, skills, and attitudes.
Artifact:
Rationale:
- What is the artifact? It is a science inquiry activity where students investigate variables of a period of a pendulum, the length of the string, the angle of release, or the mass of the object, to find out which will the variables has the most affect on the period.
- Why is it filed under this standard? This activity fits under this standard because it incorporates the digital tool of PhEt Pendulum Lad 2.02 to compete the experiment which promotes student learning and creativity.
- What does it demonstrate about my competence/abilities? That I was competent in creating an online inquiry activity to allow students to be creative in their thinking.
Standard 1: Facilitate and Inspire Student Learning and Creativity
Description:
Teachers use their knowledge of subject matter, teaching and learning, and technology to facilitate experiences that advance student learning, creativity, and innovation in both face-to-face and virtual environments by engage students in exploring real-world issues and solving authentic problems using digital tools and resources.
Artifact:
Electromagnet with Results graphed
Rationale:
- What is the artifact? It is a science inquiry activity where students investigate the strength of an electromagnet and then create a graph of their results by using Excel.
- Why is it filed under this standard? It fit under this standard because it engages students in exploring real-world issues on electromagnets and used a digital tool of Excel to compare their data result.
- What does it demonstrate about my competence/abilities? That I was competent in creating an online inquiry activity and teaching students how to compare and review data by graphing on Excel.
It is a science inquiry activity where students investigate what happens to a circuit if you add more cells or light bulbs with only one battery to power it.
- Why is it filed under this standard? This activity fits under this standard because incorporate the digital tool of Circuit Construction Kit to compete the experiment which promotes student learning and creativity.
- What does it demonstrate about my competence/abilities? That I was competent in creating an online inquiry activity and allowed students to investigate by creating circuit on the computer.
Artifact: Temperature:
Rationale:
- What is the artifact? Students participate in a science inquiry activity by watching a Photo Story 3 video to find out how hot and cold temperatures moves.
- Why is it filed under this standard? This fit under this standard because students’ learning experience incorporate digital tool of Photo Story 3 to promote their learning and creativity.
- What does it demonstrate about my competence/abilities? I was able to create an inquiry activity that students participate in by viewing a video that I made in Photo Story 3.
